LINKS

LINKS starts from the idea of capturing with the language of dance, the connections that are created between the members of its environment, without taking into account culture, borders or temporality. With this premise, a mixed program is composed with three different choreographic pieces.

For its first year on the bill, the repertoire piece “Dark Meadow” by Martha Graham was featured, making caraBdanza the only private company in Spain to have rights to the repertoire of this dance icon.

The programme currently consists of these three choreographies

Skinless; Choreography: Gonzalo Díaz
The investigation is based on Martha Graham’s famous “Lamentation” solo. The contemporary vision of this piece investigates the connections between dancers beyond the skin, beyond the physical body, emotional connections through dance.

PDA (Public Displays of Affection); Cor.: Adam Rutherford
The new creation of Adam Rutherford, artistic director of the Rutherford Dance Company, arises from the collaboration between both companies (caraBdanza and RDC), with the aim of generating new cultural links between Dance in Spain and England. The British choreographer explores through dance, the reaction to public displays of affection, its moral value, and the repercussions it has in different cultural spheres.

Sobre el vacío; Choreography: Gonzalo Díaz
“Sobre el vacío” uses in its choreographic composition the same creative process that the Dutchman Piet Mondrian used to paint his paintings. It starts from several premises and concepts that the artist had about art, and that he himself tried to represent in his works, to create an abstract and living picture on stage through movement.
